DStv kicks off new season with fans feast at National Stadium

Lagos football fans converged at the National Stadium, Lagos to witness the kick-off of the the 2016 /2017 English Premier League (EPL) in a brief ceremony put together by MultiChoice’s digital satellite TV service, DStv at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The sports city was a beehive of activities as fans trooped out in large numbers to watch two exciting matches of the EPL in an atmosphere spiced with entertainment and funfair.

The event was held to mark the start of the new Premier League season in England. Two matches were beamed live on giant screens installed inside the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium.

The first was a match involving Jose Mourinho-led Manchester United against Bournemouth. Man. United started the season on a winning note as they defeated their hosts 3-1 in the pulsating encounter.

The second was the blockbuster clash between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal lost the match 3-4.

In attendance at the Super Sunday event was John Barnes, football pundit and former Liverpool star, Victor Ikpeba, former African Footballer of the Year, both members of the panel of studio pundits, Martin Mabutho, General Manager, Marketing and Sales, MultiChoice Nigeria, Felix Awogu, General Manager, SuperSport, West Africa and a host of others.
