Elders of Esan land have advised the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo state, to abandoned the party and join the progressives or remain a ‎party of looters.

They gave the advice on Thursday during an APC ward rally held at Ukpenu, Ekpoma, Esan West local government area of Edo state‎.

Chief Simon Omofuma who spoke on behalf of the elders, said “unless the PDP changes its name and join the progressives, it remains a looting party.”

According to him, the PDP was making empty promises to the Edo people when there are indications that they mean no good.

Omofuma however noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC), has in the last 8 years shown with the construction of roads, building of schools and the provision of portable water across the state, that government can work‎.

The elders vowed to put the PDP to shame in all Esan land in the September 10 the gubernatorial poll by voting en mass for candidate of the APC, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

They however urged Obaseki not to go back on his promise to revamp economic activities in the area, saying that Esan people have pledged their support for him in line with his clear agenda for the state.

“You are the saviour we are waiting for to come to our help. We hope that immediately you are voted in, these and many more area would be of your concern,” they urged Obaseki.
