Members of Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram has released a new video showing  its members praying during recently concluded Eid-el-Kabir ceremony in three separate praying grounds believed to be in Borno and the Lake Chad area.

But Shekau, who Nigerian military authorities said was badly injured in an airstrike against members of the insurgent group some weeks ago was absent in the video.

A man who was referred to as Shekau’s deputy spoke in the video which was posted in Youtube on Tuesday.

The militant group threatens to capture Nigeria leader which it referred to as a leader of ‘infidel’ in the video in which thousands of members of the insurgent group were seen praying.

Boko Haram also affirmed that it still has many members in its rank who are determined to carry on with its murderous activities despite the killing of many of its fighters and capture of the territories under its control by the Nigeria military in the video.

The video was released a month after the group released a similar one showing some of the girls captured from Chibok, Borno State in 2014.

“This is our eid prayer from us and by the support of our leader Imam Abubakar Al-Shekau. We are extending our greetings to our people and fighters.

“Message to the infidels and the leader of the entire infidels (kafir) who is the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, that he should know we are very strong and doing very good.

“By the will of Allah under the leadership of our leader (Shekau) will capture Buhari with our hands,” the group said.
