The organized Labour in Kogi has advised opponents of Gov. Yahaya Bello in the legal tussle arising from the governorship election in the state, to accept his olive branch.

Labour leaders in the state gave the advice in a congratulatory letter to the governor on his Supreme Court victory on Friday in Lokoja.

In the letter jointly signed by the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr Onuh Edoka and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Mr Ojo Ranti, the workers advised the opponents to work with the governor.

They said that the olive branch was for peaceful reconciliation and synergy, all in the interest of the state.

The labour leadership said that the governor’s opponents should positively join hands with him “for sustained growth and development and for his agenda to enhance the well being of workers and the people of the state’’.

They urged the governor to continue to extend the hand of fellowship to his very segment in the state in order to fulfil his quest of building a state that would be the pride of all.

They pledge to support the government of the state, especially on policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the workforce and the people of the state. (NAN)
