Troops kill cattle rustlers, armed bandits in Zamfara

Nigerian soldiers  Drawn from Charlie company of the 3 rd Infantry Battalion believed they were going for another night military exercise!

 

Troops of 223 Battalion, 1 Brigade, 1 Division Nigerian Army, have continued to raid and clear suspected livestock rustlers and armed bandits camps in Zamfara State.

 

Giving an update of the on the activities of the troops in a statement on Wednesday, Colonel Sani Usman, acting director Army Public Relations said men of the Brigade raided a  suspected armed bandits camp at Dumburum forest, Zurmi Local Government where they kill  7 livestock rustlers and recovered large quantity of ammunition and a pair of military camouflage uniform.

 

He added that similarly, the troops also cleared suspected armed bandits camp at Bagega general area in Anka Local Government Area.

 

Colonel Usman said although the bandits managed to escape, an abandoned motorcycle was recovered and the camp was destroyed.

 

In the same vein, Colonel Usman said the troops also proceeded and cleared livestock rustlers and armed bandits camps located at Gando forest, near Baruba village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State.

 

The troops, according to him, killed 8 armed bandits during an exchange of gunfire.

The troops have also mobilized to Kalgo village in Maru Local Government Area in pursuit of armed bandits that attacked the village, said Col. Usman.
