Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State returned to Nigeria after a controversial trip to Germany on Friday. He was received at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja by retinue of aides, family members and well wishers.
The Governor had disappeared without properly handing over to his deputy, a situation which led to rumours about his whereabouts, with some even speculating that the youngest Nigerian state chief executive was dead.
However, the Governor’s aides and wife moved swiftly to deny the rumour.
It was later revealed that the Governor had traveled to Germany to take care of his eyes. His return to Nigeria on Friday will not doubt further alleviate the anxieties about governance in the Confluence state.
