Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki, the son of late deposed Sultan of Sokoto and member, House of Representatives,  on Tuesday described his late father as a man of profound intellect and public servant of memorable accomplishments.

In a statement issued by his Senior Legislative Aide, Mr Cosmas Anyakudo, Dasuki described his late father, Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki as a patriot.

“His eminence was a man of profound intellect and a public servant of memorable accomplishments.

“He was deeply patriotic and impacted the entire Muslim ummah of Nigeria in many positive ways, including the founding of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI).”

The lawmaker, who is the House Chairman on Navy, thanked the public for their support and solidarity through prayers and condolences.

The late sultan who died on Monday had been buried according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
