Medical Doctors under the auspices of Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter have raised alarm over the continued captivity of one of their members, Dr Paul Beralo one week after his kidnap by unknown gunmen.

Dr Paul Beralo who is the Head of Bori General Hospital in Khana local government in Ogonliland of Rivers State has been incommunicado since he was abducted.

Secretary of the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria Rivers State chapter BARILE EDWARD IKPAI has expressed worry that their colleague is still in the den of his kidnappers.

He called on the security operatives to intensify efforts for the unconditional release of BERALO.

The Secretary also denied that the absence of  BERALO at the upcoming international conference of Society of Family Physicians will give a bad signal of insecurity in Rivers State to the international community at the conference.

It would be recalled that the abduction of Dr.Paul Beralo is one of high profile kidnap cases since the state amnesty programme for criminals ended.

Kidnappers are yet to make contacts with close family members or colleguses.
