President Muhammadu Buhari has given indication that the Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, would be given further appointment after leaving office on November 12.

The President gave the indicaion on Monday when he paid a courtesy visit on the Benin Monarch, Omo n’Oba n’Edo, Oba Ewuare II, in his palace, as part of his (Buhari) two days working visit to the State.

The pronouncement might have confirmed rumours going round that the outgoing Governor was already pencilled down for appointment at the federal level.

The President who praised Governor Oshiomhole for his developmental strides in the State despite the economic downturn, noted that the Governor has served well and would not be allowed to go as the All Progressive Congress would look for a place for him to serve.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Benin Monarch who hailed the anti-corruption war of President Buhari, also lauded his economic policies and management of the country’s scarce resources.

He noted that President Buhari’s management of the country’s scarce resources will improve the welfare of the people even as he urged him to improve the welfare of Nigerians in his effort to reposition the country.

Oba Ewuare II who requested for more federal presence in the state, made case for the transformation of Gelegele jetty to an export processing zone.

According to the Monarch, the transformation of Gelegele would provide employment generation and contribute to the economy development of the country.

Oba Ewuare II noted that the President was the first person he would received at the new palatial palace since he was crowned the 40th Oba of Benin.
