Two in Police net for Facebook fraud in Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command on Thursday said it had arrested two suspected fraudsters for faking the Face book address of the Enugu Deputy Governor, Cecilia Ezeilo. The suspects are: Richard Onyema, 36, and Richard Amadi, 40.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the Spokesperson of the command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, who briefed newsmen on the arrest said the suspects were arrested on Oct. 2, in Rivers.

Amaraizu said that Onyema was a native of Amokohia while Odinaka Amadi a native of Mbaitoli, all in Imo.

He said that Onyema was a resident of No.20 Mbano camp Obigbo , Port Harcourt, Rivers while Amadi was a resident of Omagwa also in Rivers.

He said that the suspects specialised in using prominent persons’ profile to defraud members of the public.

“It was gathered that the suspects had earlier created a face book profile account of the Enugu State Deputy Governor, Cecilia Ezeilo.

“The suspects had used the face book of the second citizen of Enugu State to the dupe the public to the tune of N635, 000,’’ he said.

He said that the suspects were helping the police in their investigation.
