Arrangement has been concluded for the 2017 memorial edition of Late Samuel Ladoke Akintola, former premier of Western Region which is scheduled for Thursday January12, 2017.

The event bid to hold at Afe Babalola Auditorium University of Lagos, UNILAG, Lagos will feature the official launching of Ladoke Akintola Foundation and presentation of award to eminent Nigerians.

According to the press statement signed by the chairman planning committee, Mr. Adedokun Adeyemi, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and erudite Professor Ralph A. Akinfeleye of UNILAG’s Department of Mass communication will deliver key note address at the event.

Recipients of the award includes; the former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, retired, Governors of Lagos, Osun and Oyo States, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Senator Abiola Ajimobi respectively, Professor Akinjide Osuntokun, Professor OBC Nwolise of the University of Ibadan, UI, Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Odu’a GMD/CEO, Mr. Raji Adewale, Director NCC Ibadan, Mr. Bamiji Ojo, and former president ogbomoso parapo, late chief Ladiji Abidemi Gbadamosi.

While President Muhamadu Buhari is the special guest of honour, Dr. Yomi Finnih is the chairman of the occasion, Chief Chris Ogunbanjo is the father of the day, and Ambassador Yomi Akintola and Dr. Abimbola Akintola are the chief hosts.

Among the traditional rulers expected to grace the occasions are; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rildwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akinolu, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Olayiwola Adeyemi, Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi ,Ajagunbade 111, and Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Oloyede Gbadamosi.
