Kogi approves welfare package for widows of dead military men

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has announced an approval for the establishment of a Welfare Scheme for widows of slain military officials who are indigenes of the state.

Bello stated this Wednesday at the Armed Forces remembrance day Emblem launching held at the glass house, Government House, Lokoja and organized by the Nigerian legion.

Bello said the scheme is in recognition of the immense contribution of the ex service men to the stability and unity of Nigeria.

He said, “I hereby direct the state ministry of Women Affair and Social Development to come up with a Social Support Programe that will take care of widows of our fallen heros across the 21 local government area of the state”.

Bello who also donated N10 million to the legionnaires while launching their emblem, saluted their effort and called on individuals and corporate organizations to support the scheme.

Bello also used to occasion to pay tributes to late Col. Ali and other soldiers who paid the supreme price in their war against Boko Haram insurgents.
