Breaking: Aladja, Ogbeh- Ijoh communities in fierce gun battle

Despite the reconciliatory meetings held between the Aladja community in Urdu Local Government Area and their Ogbe-Ijoh neighbours in Warri South West local government area facilitated by the Delta state government the two cantankerous neighbours are now engaged in a fierce gun battle.

Reports reaching this magazine indicated that people of the two communities are attacking each other with guns.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta recently warned against hostilities between the Urhobos of Aladja and Ijaw of Ogbe-Ijoh over disputed common boundary.

Judicial Commissions of Inquiry had looked into the remote and immediate causes of the perennial feud and recommendations made all to no avail.

At the time of filing the report, at about 9.45 pm Sunday January 15,details on the communal crisis remained hazy.
