The Kogi State command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested Three suspects in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a lecturer, of Federal University Makurdi, Mrs Christina Agbulu.

She was abducted last year November 26. The Police Public Relation Officer, William Aya who stated this in Lokoja said the suspects were arrested from their hideout on Tuesday.

Aya disclosed that the handset of the murdered lecturer was found with the suspects, and that they are assisting the police and would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

It was tears, sorrow and grief as the decomposed body‎ of Mrs Christiana Agbulu, was found at the outskirt of Lokoja, Kogi State capital on Tuesday evening by operatives  of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

Christiana Agbulu, Lecturer 1, Biological Sciences, Federal University of Agriculture, Markudi, Benue State was kidnapped while traveling between Benue and Kogi. She was declared missing on, November 26, 2016 by ASUU‎-FUAM.

The decomposed body badly damaged was exhumed from a shallow grave near NEPA installation along Lokoja-Abuja road.

Christiana was on a visit to her friend, Mr Levi Asambe, staff of Obajana Cement company before the incident. She was believed to have been raped before her death.

According to reports, the kidnappers had used the victims cellphone and demanded for N150 thousand to be paid to the victims account immediately after her abduction.

The gang leader using the ATM card of the victim at the point of withdrawing money from Automated Teller Machine, ATM, was identified.

A police source suspect that the gang leader might have ordered for the killing of the woman apparently piqued by the revelation of his identity to the police.
