A Grade 1 Area Court, Karmo, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced a 32-year-old carpenter, Zakaria Yusuf, to two months imprisonment  for act of gross indecency.

The presiding judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, refused the plea for an option of fine, saying that the sentence would serve as deterrent to others.

He advised Yusuf, who resides at Mabglobal Estate Gwarimpa, Abuja, to desist from committing crimes.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mrs Florence Auhioboh, had told the court that Yusuf forcefully had canal knowledge of his 14-year-old son (name withheld) through the anus.

He said that the matter was reported at Gwarimpa Police Station on Jan. 29 by one Danjuma Audu of same address with the convict, who said that the incident occurred on Jan. 28.

Auhioboh said that during police investigation, the convict confessed to the crime.

He told the court that the offence was punishable under Section 285 of the Penal Code.

In his plea, the convict prayed the court to temper justice with mercy, saying that he was ill and that he had an erection that had remained so for some time.

As proof, he showed the court his sexual organ, with the erection.

After his judgement, Sadiq advised the convict to go and treat himself after serving his punishment.
