Senate President Bukola Saraki has been talking about his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Wednesday.

Saraki visited Buhari alongside Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan.

The Nigerian President has, since late January, been on vacation during which he was also scheduled to see his doctors in London.

He was initially due to return to Nigeria on Monday 6 February.

But he wrote the National Assembly to extend his stay in London based on the advice of his doctors.

Meanwhile, there have been a lot of disinformation about the state of health of the Nigerian President, with some rogue websites reporting that he may have passed on.

But following his visit alongside other leaders of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Saraki declared that the “President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits.”

Read Saraki’s full assessment of the Nigerian President he met today below:

Myself, Rt Honorable Yakubu Dogara and leader of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan paid a visit to President Buhari in Abuja House in London.

We were delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits.

The president I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.

The president’s absence and imminent return shows that there is no vacuum in government and our system of democracy is working with all organs of government fulfilling their mandate. And let me use the time tested cliché, there is no cause for alarm!
