The luxury bus

A luxury bus travelling from eastern part of the country to Lagos plunged into a river at Owode-Elede in Mile 12 Area of the State early Friday morning.

The luxury bus involved in the accident which occurred around 3am belonged to GUO Transport Services.

As at the time of filing in this story, four dead bodies have been pulled out of the river by officials of National Emergency Management Agency and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.

Ibrahim Farinloye, spokesperson of South West Zone, said the dead bodies are corpses of the driver and three other persons.

He added that 48 persons have been rescued alive while the rescue effort is ongoing.

Information on the exact destination of the bus and how many passengers are on board are not available as at the time of filing in this story.
