Peace Corp appeals for training camp in Katsina

The Peace Corp of Nigeria has appealed to the Katsina state government for the provision of a training camp.

Mohammed Ibrahim, the Katsina state commandant made the appeal while speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Daura on Thursday.

He said the appeal followed the passage of the bill establishing the corps by the National Assembly now awaiting the assent of the president.

He said a training camp was necessary to enable the corp perform optimally.

Ibrahim noted that Katsina had the least enrollment of only 200 personnel in the corps, therefore, called on the state government to procure the recruitment forms for its interested indigenes.

According to him, the corps will embark on aggressive enlightenment with a view to attracting interested persons into it especially considering the insignificant number of recruits from the state.(NAN)
