The Provost of Adamawa State College of Agriculture, Ganye, Dr Abubakar Yaji, revealed on Thursday that the school, established about 25 years ago, had been operating without any of its course accredited.

Yaji, who made the revelation when Gov. Muhammadu Bindow visited the college, said the institution needed N508 million to upgrade facilities in the school to meet up with requirements for accreditation of its courses.

The provost said that the non-accreditation of courses ran by the school had been affecting graduates of the college from getting jobs and admission to universities to further their education.

He explained that for a start, the college was in urgent need of N65 million to address some critical problems, including fencing.

Responding, Gov. Bindow who immediately approved N70 million for the college, expressed concern over the pathetic condition of the institution.

Bindow urged management of the school to ensure judicious utilization of the N70 million, which he said, would be monitored by government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adamawa College of Agriculture commenced operation at its temporary site in Mubi town in 1991, before moving to the permanent site in Ganye town in 2008.
