Gionee launches new A-series selfie-focused smartphones

After unveiling series of its latest smartphones at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC), Gionee will be bringing its A1 smartphone to the Nigerian market. The company has put out a teasing of the Gionee A1, but it no mention of the date of the Nigerian launch. The smartphone, when showcased at MWC 2017 was accompanied by a larger Plus variant.
The smartphone is from Gionee’s new line of A series and focuses on battery and selfie camera. To recall, here are the specifications and features of the Gionee A1 in details.

According to the company representatives in Nigeria, the Gionee A1 Plus comes with a 6-inch full HD display. At its heart, MediaTek Helio P25 processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is support for storage expansion up to 256GB via microSD card.
For selfies, the Gionee A1 Plus comes with a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and a Bokeh-selfie mode. It further includes a dual rear camera module that consists of a pair of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras.

The smartphone features a larger 4,550mAh battery and comes with ultra-fast charging support. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB OTG. On the software front, the Gionee A1 Plus smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat wrapped under Amigo OS.
