Two men, Sunday Ekwe, 42, and Patrick Hilejime, 25, on Monday, have been sentenced to two months imprisonment each for breach of peace, by a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja.

Ekwe, a painter, and Hilejime, a labourer, both of Angwan Shehu village, Abuja, were sentence on a two-count charge of disturbance of public peace and causing hurt.
They pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convicts an option to pay N8,000 fine each, and warned them to desist from committing crimes.
Sadiq said that the court abhours violence.
Prosecutor Auhioboh Florence had informed the court that on March 21, at about 9. 20 p.m., Ekwe and Hilejime, engaged in exchanges of words which resulted to a serious fight in a public place.
Florence said that Hilejime hit Ekwe with a plank on his face and caused him injury and Ekwe used mud block and broke Hilejime’s head.
She said that in the process, one Moses, surname unknown and two other now at large, invaded Ekwe’s house on a violent mission.
She said that they maliciously destroyed Ekwe’s property and one Nokia cell phone belonging to Joy Sunday.
Florence told the court that the convicts engaged themselves in a serious fight and in the process people gathered and they were arrested by the police.
The prosecutor informed the court that the value of the destroyed property was yet to be estimated, while the offence contravened Sections 113 and 244 of the Penal Code.
