The Edo Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) has declared N1.89 billion as total allocation that accrued to the 18 local governments in the state from the Federation Account for February.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Esan-South East Local Government, Mr Macaulay Ehonor, disclosed this on Tuesday at the end of JAAC meeting at Government House in Benin.
Ehonor said N1.35 billion of the amount was used as mandatory expenditure while N536 million was left as distributable revenue.
He, however, disclosed that some councils were still finding it difficult to meet their various financial obligations.
He listed them as Akoko-Edo, Egor, Esan-North-East, Esako West, Oriowmwon, Ovia-North-East, Oredo and Ikpoba -Okha .
He said the Gov. Godwin Obaseki had charged the heads of the various councils to find more ways to boost their internally generated revenues.
