Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, UK-based boxer, born to Nigerian parentsd, who defeated Wladimir Klitschko yesterday at Wembley Stadium and became the new World Heavyweight boxing Champion of unified IBF,WBO and WBC has revealed that though people see him as Briton, he loves Nigeria. Moreover, he loves eba and egusi.

He revealed this to Oma Akatugba, a sports journalist and Sportsbrand boss and the story was published by The Cable.

“Very humbled and not just for myself, but for the people that have worked with me, so it is important that I can only repay by achieving things in the ring,” he said.

“My heart is with Nigeria, my heart is with Britain, I’m a Nigerian by blood, yes… Eating eba with egusi is the secret of success.”

Joshua added that he wishes to meet the governor of his state in Nigeria in order to see how he could drop his widow’s mite to assist the masses.

“I’m even trying out to get to meet the governor, and go and get something back to Nigeria, even though we do small things for the country between my family and my mother, we help out in the village she came from and If I could do more on a large scale, I’ll definitely come down there and associate myself more with Nigeria,” he said.
