The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Friday predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions in the central states of the country on Saturday morning, with isolated thunderstorms over Mambilla, Makurdi and Lafia.

NiMet in its Weather Outlook, which was issued by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) in Abuja, also predicted day and night temperatures of 29 to 35 and 18 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
It said that cloudy weather conditions and prospects of localised thunderstorms were expected to prevail over Kaduna, Lokoja, Makurdi, Jos, Bauchi and Yola in the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency forecast that the southern states would experience localised thunderstorms in Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Ado Ekiti, Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Obudu, Ikom and Calabar in the morning.
It also predicted cloudy weather conditions in Calabar and isolated rains in Lagos and Ijebu-Ode in the afternoon and evening, with day and night temperatures of 28 to 35 and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, the northern states will, in the morning, experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with prospects of localised thunderstorms in Maiduguri, Kano, Dutse, Damaturu, Nguru and Potiskum in the afternoon and evening hours.
“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 35 to 40 and 25 to 29 degrees Celsius respectively.
“The availability of moisture and energy over the country will result in cloudiness with prospects of localised thunderstorms over the northern, central and southern cities in the next 24 hours,’’ it said.
