Though he did not disclose the exact amount, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, said on Saturday that the royalty he earned from the book he wrote on the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan was big enough to ‘shatter’ his bank account.

“As I type this, I am in shock! My publisher just informed me of my royalties from my #1 bestselling book, Facts Versus Fiction: The True Story of the Jonathan Years: Chibok, 2015 and Other Conspiracies, and I thought he made a mistake by adding two extra zeros.

“So I told him to repeat the amount! God be praised!

“This book has shattered my bank account! Thank you my readers for making my efforts financially rewarding!,” Omokri wrote on his Facebook page.

It will be recalled that the book which was published on 29 May, 2017 had climbed to number 23rd on the ‘politics and social sciences’ as well as number 51,286th in the general bestseller category on Amazon few days after it was released.

Omokri, who was special assistant on new media to Jonathan, had in the book chronicles key events during the life of that administration, especially the kidnap of the Chibok girls and its influence on the outcome of the 2015 general elections.

The author claimed to have spoken with one Matthew Page who he described as ‘a former intelligence analyst on Nigeria in the US state department’ to arrive at how the Barrack Obama administration contributed to the loss of the 2015 presidential election by Jonathan.

Omokri said the Obama administration was angry with Jonathan because of the way his administration handled some issues, including the alleged violation human rights by soldiers fighting Boko Haram in the north-east, corrupt allegations linked to former petroleum minister,  Diezani Alison-Madueke, and the issue of gay marriage among others.

The former President had also endorsed the book after it was published as he encouraged his supporters to buy it to know the ‘truth’ about some issues that characterised his administration. Writing on his Facebook page soon after the release of the book,  the ex President said,  “The Eagle has landed. The book, Facts Versus Fiction: The True Story of the Jonathan Years, Chibok, 2015 and the Conspiracies, is out. Get the truth about the Jonathan administration.

“Call …. to order your copy. After this book is read you will know the truth about things that have been suppressed.

“The book is also available on amazon and Barnes & Noble and will be released as an e-book next week.

“Order a copy today to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about my administration. Facts Versus Fiction

“I endorse this book. What you may have thought before now will change when you read the facts presented with evidence in this book.

“No matter how far falsehood has traveled, the truth in this book will overtake it. I understand the ebook comes out next week. GEJ.’
