Coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups has urged the party’s governorship aspirants in Anambra to stick with the agreement among them to support who emerges as candidate.

Mr Lawal Munir, National Chairman of the coalition, made the appeal during the inauguration of the Anambra Chapter of the group in Awka on Thursday.

Munir, represented by the National Organising Secretary, Mr Danjuma Miya, said the body would provide total support for anyone elected at the party primaries to ensure APC won the Nov.18 governorship poll.

“It is our tradition that irrespective of varied political stand during primaries and congresses, we always come back to support any candidate that emerged 100 per cent.

“We wish to also use this opportunity to extend our request to all the gubernatorial aspirants of the upcoming Anambra governorship election to graciously adopt same for the overall interest of both the state and our party,” he said.
Also, Chief Chris Ekwilo said the leadership of APC should allow a level playing ground for the aspirants to test their popularity at the party primaries.
Ekwilo, who is the leader of Igbo Coalition in APC in Lagos State, warned that any attempt to anoint or impose a candidate would not augur well for the mission to take over Anambra government in November.
He described the large number of aspirants of APC for the poll as a reflection of the people of the state to integrate Anambra into the national political movement.

He urged the new executive of Coalition of APC Support Group in Anambra not to align the group to any aspirant, adding that they could bless but not endorse anyone.
In his remark, Mr Onyebuchi Osakwe, the Chairman of the coalition in Anambra, said the members of the executive would go to work immediately.

Osakwe thanked the national leadership.

He described the APGA-led administration in Anambra as a failure and had to be changed.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of APC to win the election and promised that the coalition would stop at nothing to mobilise Anambra people for the party.
“We are ever ready to carry out the good news of our party to all the nooks and cranny of Anambra because change has come to stay.

‘’We are going on aggressive sensitisation in all the local governments to canvass for people.
“The calibre of men and women we have in Anambra APC gives us hope and encouragement that Anambra Government House belongs to us,” he said.
The national leadership inaugurated the executives of the body at the state level and those of the 21 local government areas as well as for the Arewa and Yoruba communities in Anambra.
