Policeman kills ‘pure water’ seller over bribe in Port Harcourt

Hell was let loose at about 9.30 am in Port Harcourt on Saturday morning when enraged members of public who witnessed reckless killing of unarmed Sachet water (pure water) dealer by one Corporal Rowland Onyijie of Okporo Division in Obio-Akpor local Government area of the Rivers Police Command went beserk.
According to an eyewitness account, Corporal Onyijie had allegedly demanded for N100 from a sachet water vendor who refused.
Eyewitnesses says as the argument ensued, the Police Corporal cocked his rifle, and release the bullet, instantly killing the sachet water
Vendor in his Tricycle popularly called KEKE NAPEP.
Nnamdi Omoni, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the Commissioner of Rivers State, CP Zaki Ahmed, has ordered for the immediate arrest and detention of the Corporal at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID for further inquest into the reckless killing.
