Olisa Metuh in court in a stretcher

Olisa Metuh, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, was brought inside the Federal High Court room, Abuja, venue of his ongoing corruption trial on a stretcher. He actually arrived the court environment in an ambulance.

Justice Okon Abang, was sympathetic and said: “I have seen the condition that the first defendant is. Seeing the condition, I am inclined to adjourn this matter to allow the first defendant attend his trial”. New date is now 15 March

However, commentators receives this with derision. One of them, Richard Akinnola said: “Olisa Metuh wasted his time in politics. By now, he should have been an A- list cadre in Nollywood. He put up a stunt today in court by coming to court on stretcher, ostensibly to delay his trial after running out of new delay tactics in his trial. Mr man, stand up and face your trial. Enough of these theatrics. All na wash.”
