Ogun Police parade 3445 firearms, ammunition, 27 suspects

Ogun state police command in its resolve to curb crimes and criminality in the state on 29 March paraded about 1,179 firearms, 2,266 ammunition and 27suspects. The commissioner of police CP Ahmed Illiyasu made these known to newsmen at the state headquarters in Abeokuta that the fire arms,ammunition are the ones that was recovered from all kinds of suspects that have been paraded between last year February till this year March.

Ahmed revealed that Usman was one of the gang kidnappers that engaged themselves in fire battle with men of FSARS in Bayeruwa,Fidiwo village in Lagos-Ibadan expressway last week. During the encounter, six of them were gunned down by the FSARS team on operation. Ahmed was caught in his hideout in a forest around the place and recovered from him are:two Ak47 ruffles, 25 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, one locally made double barrel pistol,thirty-five rounds of live cartridges (large),six rounds of small size live cartridges, two cutlasss and assorted charms.

Others paraded includes:Ganiyu Jim oh,Al-Amin Damilola,Lekan Taiwo,Olasode Waliyi,Tosin Shobowale,Muse Karounwi,Taiwo Soyinka,Daniel Bathelomew,Abduljelili Tajudeen.

Meanwhile CP Ahmed Illiyasu promised to do more and not to relent until Ogun state is crime free.
