Ogun FMC Takes Hospital To Market, Motor Parks To Mark Anniversary

The Federal Medical Center (FMC)in Abeokuta in its bid to mark twenty-five years in which the hospital was founded in Ogun State and to reduce the rate at which market women and transporters die of one sickness on the other,had decided to take hospital to them in their various markets and motor parks by giving the free test and sensitization of living healthy.

The Medical director of the Center Prof Adewale Musa Olomu represented by the Chairman of the anniversary Dr Oluwafemi Alao noted that the hospital is not just bringing the medical test to the traders because it want to mark anniversay but because it is tired of the rate at which people die of one sickness on the other ,so they use the opportunity of the anniversary to come to go to markets and garages to test them to know what is wrong with them so has to tackle it on time.

Alao also noted that the exercise would take place in about three to five local governments In Ogun State and about five hundred participants are expected from each local governments.

The free check up test will include High blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and eye test.

Mrs Tejumade Bakri, the Iyaloja of Lipede Ultra Modern market Kuto said traders are so much Interested In Making money than looking after their health.

“Traders are so engrossed to money Making and neglect their health forgetting that health is wealth.”
