Senators who are still faithful to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC were in Aso Rock presidential villa to pledge their loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening. The visit followed the defection of 15 of their colleagues to the opposition parties, mostly, the Peoples Democratic party as announced by Senate President Bukola Saraki on the floor of the Senate chambers on Tuesday.

There were many unexpected senators among the lawmnakers.. For one, Sen. Lanre Tejuoso, who Saraki claimed left the APC was among the visitors. He told the President at the meeting that he had returned to APC. While introducing himself to the President, he said:  “Mr President, your son has returned home.”

Also at the meeting was Senator Adesoji Akanbi, Oyo South, who Saraki also claimed had joined the PDP. He emphatically denied the list of defectors as dubious the following day, saying he remains a member of the APC. Senator Shehu Sani from Kaduna, who has been blowing hot and cold about his political allegiance was also at the meeting, exchanging banters with his colleagues. See more photos of the visit below:
