Anambra State Government has congratulated Mr Chris Isiguzo, the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The message was released by Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba.

It said: “on behalf of the Government and people of Anambra State, I congratulate you on your victory as the President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the just-concluded 6th Triennial Conference of the Union held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

“This well-deserved victory, the first ever to be achieved by members of the Union from the zone C extraction, attests to your high sense of commitment, resoluteness and pursuit of excellence.

“I join the NUJ family to rejoice with you as you celebrate this milestone even as I look forward to many more to come.

“It is on record that your passion for journalism is exemplary which hopefully you will blend with your experience to turn around the practice for a better society.

Adinuba then adds: “I therefore, implore you to bequeath to the Union, a legacy of professionalism which will remain indelible on the sands of time’’.

He prayed God to continue to give him the strength and wisdom to excel in this new assignment.
