A 38 – year -old- man, Abiodun Ojo has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for defiling a 6 years old girl.

According to the Police Command, the suspect who was arrested at Magbara Village in the Idiroko area of the State  on Sunday lived in the same house with the parent of the victim.

The suspect, according to the Police, lured the girl into a bush path under the pretence of wanting to send her on errand and consequently forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in the bush.

However, the cries of the girl attracted the attention of members of the local vigilance group, who rescued her and placed a distress call to Police at Idiroko division, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the hospital for medical attention

Meanwhile, Ogun Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the rape case to the Police anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State criminal investigation and intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
