The last has not been heard over the Hijab crisis that has been rocking the 55 year old International School, University of Ibadan, UI, for the past four weeks as the institution’s authority on Tuesday confirmed the receipt of court summons over the issue.

The private nonreligious secondary school has been enjoying peace until some parents of  few students of the school came up with the idea that their female children should be allowed to wear hijab on top of their uniforms.

In order to press home their demand, the parents formed an association, which has been used to arm-twist the school authority to accept female students wearing hijab.

The parents vowed to go extra mile in ensuring that female Muslim students, who deem fit start to wear hijab.

Confirming the receipt of the court summon over the issue, the Chairman Board of Governors of the school, who doubles as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic in UI, Professor Abideen Adeyinka Aderinto, pointed out that he would no longer make comment on the matter since the case is now in Court.

Stressing that ISI is a law abiding institution, he said that the institution have absolute confidence that the Judiciary will resole the matter.

About eight Muslim parents had dragged ISI before an Ibadan State high court on Monday for the enforcement of the right of their female children to wear hijab in ISI which the school maintained is again her dress code.

The case has been slated for mention on December 21 before Justice Ladiran Akintola.
