I have once seen a lion killed by a gathering of hyenas 

Even a lion must choose its fights. Sometimes he roars and moves ahead to fight another day. 

In the US there are over 8 political parties. Only the Republican and Democratic party presidential aspirants square off face to face. The “also rans” or the “count me joins” debate on a separate night. 

Debate is not a time to become known or to rub shoulders with superiors and take cheap blows at betters on a false equal pedestal. PDP and APC have paid their dues. It is years of toil and work and alliances. Their presidential aspirants have also paid their dues and are known commodities in all households. No one does not know Atiku. Before God and man I am still learning to spell Moghalu’s name and I do not know Durotoye’s first name. I just know he is House of Tara’s husband. Sowore and Oby I know well. One as a publisher, the other as someone cheated out of her right by APC after her “#BringBack Our Girls won APC their election. 

So, if PDP and APC are the Republican and the Democratic parties, if the incumbent Buhari does not show up, it will be foolhardy and totally temerarious for Atiku to now take the banner of PDP, majority party in the Nigerian Legislature as we speak, and plant it beside unknown banners.

I say temerarious because there is a possibility Atiku would have flopped or shone. Maybe people will have said “oh he is so humble”. Well… that did not help Jonathan.

But whoever looks at a set of aspirants with zero chance, all former frontline supporters of APC’s Buhari. All of whom have concentrated on attacking Atiku and not even the incumbent Buhari and you say Atiku should have debated? Whoever says this is an enemy of Atiku.
