NiMet predicts sunny, hazy, partly cloudy weather for Thursday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted sunny, hazy and partly cloudy weather conditions over most parts of the country with localised showers over Lagos on Thursday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Wednesday, in Abuja, predicted sunny and hazy conditions over the central region with partly cloudy conditions over Ilorin.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 29 to 36 and 13 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the northern states would experience dust haze conditions with visibility range of three to five kilometres.

It also predicted localised visibility of less than 1000m over the region with day and night temperatures of 28 to 34 and 11 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, southern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy condition over the inland cities and thundery activities over Enugu in the afternoon and evening period “with partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over the coast and chances of localised showers over Lagos in the morning hours.’’

“Localised thunderstorm are probable over Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, and Ijebu – Ode axis, while the rest part of the region are expected to be in partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with day and night temperatures of 33 to 37 and 19 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Dust haze conditions are likely over the northern cities with slim prospects of localised showers over a few parts of the coastal cities within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
