The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) early Tuesday morning declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Darius Ishaku, as the winner of last Saturday’s  governorship election held.

The Returning Officer for the election, Shehu Iya, at the INEC office in Jalingo declared that Ishiaku, who is the incumbent governor scored  520, 433 in the election while the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 362, 735 votes.

Breakdown of the results from the 16 LGAs shows that the PDP won 12 LGAs, while the APC candidate, Sani Danladi claimed victory in the four other LGAs.
