Norbert Okolie, the Media Officer of Rangers International Football Club, on Friday said the club have in place the perfect strategy to help beat hosts Niger Tornadoes FC on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Enugu-based Rangers will take on Niger Tornadoes in a Match Day 13 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Minna.

Okolie told NAN in Enugu that the club had made good their plans to take the three points on Sunday in Minna through serious preparations.

He said they had no fears about what they could face in Minna, assuring that the experience they gained on the continent in the past few months would see them through.

“We have been positive about the Match Day 13 fixture against Tornadoes in Minna and how we can win the game. Already, the players and the technical crew are there adjusting to the weather and getting familiar with the pitch.

“I must say that we are ready for the battle of Minna and we are believing in God for victory in the match.

“Of course, in every game there are three outcomes that are expected, which is a win, a draw or a loss. But we are not looking at the last option, except the first two,’’ the club spokesperson said.

He said Rangers players were going to give their all in the match knowing what was at stake and with the fact that they would like to return to the continent.

“Though our next two matches are against Northern clubs —- Tornadoes and Katsina United —- and I know they will be difficult games, but I am not seeing anything less than a draw in this weekend’s game.

“Like I always say, Rangers fear no foe and we never say die as we always fight to the last minute of each match.

“We have planned for victory in the two away matches and I am sure that losing is not for us,’’ Okolie said.

Speaking on the club’s present position on the log, Okolie said MFM FC of Lagos were just occupying Group A’s top spot temporarily.

“What Rangers need to do is to take their matches one after the other, as we still have advantage over others.

“Give it to MFM FC, they have done marvelously well with 22 points after 12 matches, with Enyimba International FC of Aba on 19 points after the same number of matches.

“But we have played seven matches and occupy the third position behind the two clubs with 16 points, and that shows how close we are to the top,’’ he said.

Okolie however insisted that Rangers were looking forward to finishing within the top three bracket to qualify for the Super Six.

“From there, we will pick the ticket to play on the continent, as well as the league trophy,’’ he said.
