MFM Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu says

Lagos-based MFM FC Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu on Monday said that the team’s downturn in the League could be attributed to tiredness of the players adding that they would bounce back.

Ilechukwu said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) against the poor results recorded by the team in recent matches.

Things are not too rosy for the team in their recent matches as they have recorded a three match winless streak in the Group A of the Abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The team started their winless run at home to Enyimba FC of Aba when they played 1-1 at Agege Stadium on the Match Day 13, then lost away to Kwara United 0-1 in the Match Day 14 fixtures.

The Olukoya Boys on Sunday, however, played a pulsating 0-0 against the runaway winners of the 2017/2018 NPFL which was ended abruptly.

Raising concern over his team, Ilechukwu said that the poor run could be attributed to stress and ill-luck.

“It is football because we are supposed to win against Enyimba but that did not happen; maybe the team is tired for now.

“In the first half against Lobi Stars, we are not good enough, but in the second half, we came out to play the game and got the three points.

“At the end of the day, we got a draw. We are not losing our invisibility at home; in football, you have to get the right mentality to the game.

“We do our preparation well enough and we can still play to win in our own time,’’ he said.

The not too impressive matches have seen MFM drop to the third position with 24 points on the Group A NPFL league standings.

The team played 15 matches with 7 win, three draws and lost 5.
