#Ebolavirus: Stella Adadevoh, Sawyer's doctor dies

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, the most senior doctor who contracted Ebola Virus disease after treating the Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer is dead.

Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, Nigeria Minister of Health announced the death today in a statement.

He described her as an experienced consultant physician and endocrinologist.

Adadevoh, 58 years old, was the Lead Consultant with First Consultants Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos where Sawyer was treated before he died of Ebola disease.

“The Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu regrets to announce the death, this evening, of one of the primary contacts of the index Ebola Virus Disease case, the most senior doctor who participated in the management of the patient, a female consultant physician.

“With this unfortunate development the total number of Ebola Virus related deaths in Nigeria now stand at five. The other two patients currently under treatment in the isolation wards are stable and are being taken care of,” said the Minister.

With the passing away of the doctor, Nigeria has recorded five Ebola deaths, of which one was the index (first) case, Patrick Sawyer, one medical doctor, two nurses and the ECOWAS staff.

Nigeria also has five Ebola survivors and three more expected to be discharged later this week, the Minister indicated in the statement.

The four other deaths included two medical workers, a doctor and a nurse, who had treated the Liberian finance ministry consultant, and an official from the west African regional bloc, ECOWAS, who picked him up from the airport.

All of the cases have been in Lagos.

The World Health Organization said Tuesday that there were 15 cases of the virus in Nigeria.

The global death toll from Ebola stands at 1,229, with the bulk of cases in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.

May her soul rest in Peace. It is now clear, to all who care to listen and understand, that the condition given to those blacks, who left their nations to settle in America, included in it these kinds of terrorist acts. There are many Patrick Sawyers out there that are waiting to deliver such deadly packages to various African countries in exchange for security and good living for their immediate families residing in America. Patrick’s case was clear and a lesson for all to see. Had it mean he succeeded and return to USA, he would have been alive today and enjoying the benefits there with his uncultured, talkative and disrespectful wife.
