A Boko Haram member disguised as woman arrested in Cameroon in July

Boko Haram has continued its campaign of bloodshed against civilian population in Nigeria’s north east, with an old tactics: dressing up male suicide bombers as women.

Two of the disguised bombers attacked Maiduguri Thursday evening, killing many people.

The third bomber was not successful as he was pre-emptively attacked by the people and leg broken.

The attack yesterday was at Sajeri area of the city that has borne the brunt of the insurgency attacks.

Officials are still keeping mum on the actual number of casualties.

One of the suicide bombers alighted from the tricycle and ran into a mosque with explosives strapped to his body. He detonated his bomb, killing many in the process, the Daily Trust reported.

When the sympathisers gathered at the scene, the second bomber detonated his explosive among them too, also killing many people.

However, the third one was not lucky as the people broke his legs before he could detonate it.
After breaking his legs, people kept a safe distance away from him while he could not detonate his bomb.

Boko Haram has resorted to targeting civilian population after its fighters were dislodged from areas they occupied in Nigerian territory..
