Former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak on Wednesday has taken over as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ousting Uche Secondus, who has been acting after Adamu Mu’azu resigned.
Gulak proclaimed himself the national chairman amidst cheers of his supporters at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
The declaration was witnessed by Doyin Okupe and some former aides of Jonathan.
On December 16, 2015 an Abuja High Court ruled that another person from the north east should succeed Adamu Mu’azu as the national chairman of the party.
