Buhari and Amosun

President Muhammed Buhari will arrive Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State today to   commission some projects as part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Gateway state.

According to the details of the programme, President Buhari will arrive Ijebu-Ode this evening,  around 5pm,  and will commission  the Mobalufon bridge.

The President,according to the itinerary, will have a stop over at the Awujale’s palace to pay courtesy visit to the revered monarch,the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland,Oba Alayeluwa (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona CFR. The Awujale will treat the president with dinner.

Projects to be commissioned along the Ogun East Senatorial District axis of the state are the Lagos garage flyover and Phase one of the Folagbade- Ibadan road,both in Ijebu Ode.

Others are Sagamu Bridge,Oba Erinwole Road,Model schools at Ago Iwoye and Ikenne among others.

The Presidential train will move to Ogun Central later tomorrow to continue  the commissioning of various projects around the town.

Ogun state  will be forty on Wednesday, 3 February, 2016 and many activities have been lined up to mark the anniversary.

The capital city of the state,Abeokuta and some cities in the state have been spruced up in preparation for the arrival and celebration of the historic event.

A Presidential advance team arrived  the state since Saturday,moving round the projects to ascertain their  level of readiness.

Our correspondent can authoritatively report that the team led by an Engineer expressed satisfaction at the level of those projects are and the qualities of the said projects.

There is going to be a special executive council meeting this morning,where all the past governors and military administrators will be part of the state weekly executive council.

According to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG,Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, all  past leaders,who are still alive have been contacted and they have expressed readiness to be part of the historic event.

Others,according to the SSG that will be part of the special session include the past Heads of Service and past government secretaries.

At the legislative house,  all the past Speakers will  also be part of a special session marking the historic day.

As at the time of filling this report, security have been beefed up in all parts of the state with additional personnel from the federal government seeing all around.

All is now set for the special session of the executive council as some leaders and elders in the state have been arriving at the State secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
