The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria NAN reports that NiMet gave the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Saturday in Abuja.

It added that the central states would have day and night temperature of 33 to 40 and 17 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that southern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions during the morning hours.

It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Calabar, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Warri, Akure, Ibadan, Ado-Ekiti, Lagos and Yenogoa later in the day.

It stated that there would be day and night temperatures of 32 to 37 and 23 to 25 degree Celsius respectively within the period in focus in the nine southern towns.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny conditions over Sokoto, Gasau and Katsina with prospects of moderate dust haze in horizontal visibility of two to five kilometers over Maiduguri, Nguru, Yola, Gombe and Kano.

“The region will have day and night temperature of 37 to 41 and 13 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

“With the influx of moisture into the country, the coastal regions up to the high grounds of the inland cities have prospects of thunderstorms in the next 24 hours,” NiMet said
